Gorgon on the Loose!
Greek mythology was at the forefront of this spellbinding pumpkin carve at the historic Roman spa town of Bath. One of the most fearsome of all the Greek mythological characters, the Gorgon Medusa, was to be the subject of the day’s event at the Roman Baths.

The sculpture required 3 pumpkins and had an unusual structure as it had a body and head element with an outer shell to represent the snake patterning on the hair. The design loosely was based on the book cover illustration by Flavia Sorrentino.
The Eyes Have it!

The end result was very much appreciated by all at the Baths on the day, particularly the author Marie, who was delighted to see a character from her book come to vivid life!

Check Medusa out here in all her scary glory, just don’t look her in the eyes! Judging by some of these photos, it’s uncertain who is the most terrifying: Medusa or Peter! You be the judge!
