Sand In Your Eye were contacted by Crewe Town Council who asked us to deliver some sand sculpture workshops within The Market Centre as part of a series of fun family accessible events they were putting on on over the Easter school holidays.
Jocasta and Jonathan set off early morning from our studio to set up these workshops on Friday 12th April. They workshops were set up inside the shopping centre near to the entrance, to make it accessible to all.
These workshops were free to the public and people had no set duration that they were allowed to stay for, some stayed for only half an hour, and some (including adult’s) found it difficult to be dragged away to eat their lunch, as they were so involved within what they were making.
Our team came prepared with a bunch of tips and tricks to make some easter themed sand sculptures such as cutie little bunnies and chicks. Though the people loved having a go at the easter sculptures many went on to try other things such as mermaids, sausage dogs, bridge and castles.

The feedback from the community during this event was brilliant. People were regularly asking when Sand In Your Eye were coming back and if we would come and do a larger sand sculpture somewhere in Crewe. We loved working in Crewe and with both Crewe Town Council and The Market Center, we hope to be back soon Crewe!
