What’s better than a Great British summer day filled with vintage vibes and a bit of seaside sand sculpture? We can’t think of much!
That’s why we were absolutely delighted when Gloucester Gov contacted us to bring our sand sculpting workshops to their fantastic community event: ‘Gloucester Goes Retro’.
This popular, repeat event is a huge highlight in the city’s calendar, bringing thousands of people to the city, all eager to enjoy a day packed with vintage fun. We were thrilled to be a part of it.
⛱️ Bringing the Beach to the City
Our brilliant team members, Dave and Peter, were our representatives on the ground. They set up and ran a free-flowing sand sculpture workshop, open for all to enjoy throughout the day from 10 am to 5 pm.
It was wonderful to see so many people—of all ages and abilities—getting creative and digging in. The workshops were buzzing all day, with loads of participants joining in the fun creating lots of fun seaside creatures and designs.
We even took along our new photo op board for people to have fun getting some images with to remember their day!
🇬🇧 The Perfect Vintage Atmosphere
The atmosphere was just incredible. Our workshops were surrounded by the sights and sounds of the festival, creating a perfect “Great British” scene.
- Visitors relaxed in striped deck chairs set up right by our sandy patch.
- A stunning display of classic cars gave the event that authentic vintage feel for all the enthusiasts.
- Kids cooled off and played in a nearby water fountain.
- We were even swooped on by some giant seagull’s walking by!
It was the perfect backdrop for a day of creative, seaside fun.
☀️ A Huge Thank You
Dave and Peter reported back that they had an absolute “whale of a time.” A huge thank you to the Gloucester Gov team, who were so helpful and friendly to work with.
We loved bringing a sandy smile to this brilliant event and truly hope to return for more vintage fun in the coming years!
