The finished Ice Tree and Gift Donations for the Rotary Club

We were pleased to be invited by Hebden Royd Council to take part in their Christmas Light Switch On Festival in Mytholmroyd.

Last year we created an ice postbox, this year the ice sculpture was a 2m tall Christmas tree. The tree formed the centrepiece for gifts donated by local residents – as part of the Rotary Club of Hebden Bridgehttp://www.hebdenbridgerotary.org.uk ‘Shoe Box’ appeal. People were invited to place gifts under the tree that were then sent over to children in Eastern Europe.

The ice sculpture was created from 5 blocks of ice near the war memorial in Mytholmroyd. We began creating the sculpture at 9am into a Christmas tree as part of the attractions which formed the build up to the Christmas Lights Switch On Party.   The tree was finished by 4pm and then the public were invited to place gifts under the tree.
