We were approached by the National Trust to create a sand animation on West Wittering beach to raise awareness about keeping dogs on leads around wildlife.

West Wittering is home for part of the year to the Dark Bellied Brent Goose, who rest here as part of their yearly mammoth journey, spending the winter feeding on Eelgrass in the estuaries. Here they build up their energy resources in preparation for their onward journey to Northern Russia where they nest on the boggy Arctic Tundra. The severe climate only allows them two months of good weather to raise a family. If the geese are chased multiple times a day by dogs, then they become exhausted and taking off becomes extremely difficult.

The 40 metre anamorphic sand drawing of a dog chasing a goose took the Jamie, Peter and Dave a day to complete after an early 5am start. Jonathan then spent the weeks after putting the animation together.
