There’s something truly special about the British seaside, and for our team, Bognor Regis is a special one!

The last time we visited back in 2022, the air was crisp, and the town was glowing with holiday spirit. We had an absolute blast at the festive light switch-on, where we brought winter magic with an interactive ice frame, our famous ice post-box (complete with “Elf Run” letter-writing workshops), and a live ice carving of an interactive sleigh and reindeer.

Ever since that trip, we’ve been crossing our fingers for a chance to return to the coast. So, when Kirsten from Bognor Regis Town Council reached out to ask us to join their Health & Wellbeing event, we didn’t have to think twice.

The Race Against the Clock: 60-Minute Live Ice Carving

For this event, the council wanted something high-energy and captivating. We decided it was the perfect stage to showcase our new 1-hour live ice carves.

Unlike our longer, more technical builds, these sessions are designed for maximum drama and engagement. We set up a live countdown clock next to the sculptor, creating a “beat the clock” atmosphere that stops passersby in their tracks. It’s fast, it’s loud, and it’s incredibly fun to watch a block of ice transform into art in just 60 minutes.

A Friendly Rivalry: The Bee vs. The Green Man

Our sculptors, Dave and Jamie, took to the chisels with two very different inspirations:

  • Dave tackled a delicate, intricate Bee—a nod to the local environment and the “wellbeing” of our planet.
  • Jamie went mythical, carving a stunning Green Man, symbolizing nature and rebirth.

The highlight was definitely the crowd interaction. We had everyone cheering—and light-heartedly heckling—the carvers throughout the day. A ‘friendly’ debate broke out over whose sculpture was the true masterpiece, with plenty of witty jibes flying back and forth between the guys and the spectators.

We had such a wonderful time reconnecting with the community and soaking up the seaside energy. A huge thank you to Bognor Regis Town Council for having us back; it was a joy to see the town again.

We’re already looking for an excuse to return—stay cool, Bognor!
