We were recently honoured to partner with 72Point and create a live carve ice sculpture, on a crucial awareness campaign for Skipton Building Society, in collaboration with Age UK and National Energy Action (NEA).

The goal? To spotlight the urgent crisis of fuel poverty in the UK and visually represent the sheer scale of people struggling in frozen homes this winter.
Our team, Jamie and Dan, travelled to London’s iconic Borough Market to execute a live ice carving activation. Over the course of the day, they sculpted an impressive tonne of ice, rasping, fusing, and carving it into a block of terrace houses—a powerful symbol of the millions facing unheated homes.

The event was a huge success, drawing the attention of numerous London passersby, film crews, and representatives from Skipton Building Society. A special thank you is due to Julian and Sophie from 72Point, and the incredibly welcoming team at Borough Market, whose massive support ensured the smooth execution of the project.

Once complete, the sculpture was illuminated with a blue light, dramatically signifying the biting cold that so many will feel indoors this year. This visual message was supported by compelling data from the University of Bristol’s National Child Mortality Database, highlighting how unheated homes tragically impact mortality rates among the elderly and young children.

The activation achieved widespread print and online coverage, appearing across national titles including The i, Daily Express, JOE.COM, The Sun, The Mirror, The Star, and over 50 regional publications.

Beyond the campaign, Skipton is reinforcing its commitment by pledging a further £50,000 to help those facing fuel poverty—on top of donating 1% of their pre-tax Group profit to charity annually—and encourages others to support Age UK and NEA directly.

A truly worthwhile activation. Thank you to everyone involved; we are eager for our next collaboration.
