Every year Jamie picks up his ice carving tools and heads down to the Queen’s estate at Sandringham for Living Heritage’s Christmas Craft, Food & Gift Fair. As well as all the fantastic craft and food stalls, they have lots of activities on to entertain all the families visiting and our ice sculptures are just one of them!
This year Jamie and Mark Lewis shared the tent with the wonderful Noisy Oyster puppeteers and story tellers who captivated adults and children alike with their interactive rendition of the three little pigs.
So, Jamie thought the ice carvings should fit the theme, on the first day he carved a giant ice sculpture of the big bad wolf and on the Saturday three icy little pigs joined him.
Rather than being scared of the wolf, these ice carvings look like cool customers even with the wolf retaining all his icy, scary features for the whole event. It just goes to show that with care, large ice sculptures can last for longer than just one day – on this occasion a whopping three days! The final day of the fair saw one of our ice post boxes adding to the group.
The kids visiting loved posting their letters to Santa into the post box, and we loved our time at Sandringham, roll on next Christmas!
