2021 was our busiest ice sculpting season yet! With ice sculpture trails, winter festivals, Christmas events all over the country – our professional ice sculptors have spent most of December in sub zero temperatures in our dedicated freezer making ice carvings of all shapes and sizes.

Although the snow wasn’t falling as the Sand In Your Eye ice sculptors made their way to Hull’s fair city this December, we brought along plenty of ice to get the visitors and townsfolk of Hull in the festive chilly Christmas spirit.

This epic ice trail organised by Hull City Council featured 10 ice sculptures, carved and created in our studio, that were dotted around town for people to find, an ice post box complete with some jolly elves who were helping children to write and post their letters to Santa and a whopping 3 live carves.

The townsfolk of Hull followed their ice sculpture trail maps, exploring the city to find all sorts of Christmas characters carved out of ice. We had the main man himself – Father Christmas popping out of a chimney, a stack of presents, a snowman, penguin, reindeer, gingerbread man, a pair of ice skates, Santa’s workshop, a Christmas stocking stuffed full of presents, and jingle bells outside the minster.

You could then watch some live ice carving as our ice carvers fired up their chainsaws and created 3 bigger ice sculptures including Santa’s sleigh, a Christmas tree and some angel wings for the ultimate in instagrammable posing.

Great fun was had by all and we hope to return to Hull again for more ice carving antics.
