For the second year now, Ox Tools invited us to make a sand sculpture as part of their stand at this year’s NMBS Exhibition at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
Myself and Jamie headed off bright and early with a van full of sand to set up and make an interactive for the opening of the event the next day. It was great to work with Dave and the team at Ox Tools again and we quickly got going with the compaction. We carved away for the rest of the day ready to finish off during the event and found a lovely local pub for fish and chips followed by a tricky pub quiz!
The next day we cracked on with the sculpture, Jamie made a builder’s torso and I carved an Ox that we had half a day to finish so that visitors could stand behind it and add their head!
Everyone was a really friendly and by lunchtime we had just a few finishing touches to make so people could get their photos. It was a fun way to finish of the day and fairly relaxed before having to begin packing away.
We packed up our buckets of sand, fought our way through the traffic and headed back to Yorkshire after another great event, thanks Ox Tools!
