We are very lucky at Sand In Your Eye to catch a quick interview with Fred the Pumpkin Skeleton before his busy Halloween Night. We went to his home in Judy Woods Bradford to get a glimpse of what it is like to be a Ghoul.
JAMIE:
So Fred, how did you come about becoming a skeleton made of pumpkin, or should I say a Pumpkin Sculpture?
FRED:
Call me what you like. I came about because you thought it would be a good idea to make me as I am sure you are aware. It’s very nice that you took the time but I think you made my head a little bit small.
JAMIE:
Oh, sorry about that Fred, I’ll make sure I don’t make that mistake next time.
FRED:
Call yourself a professional pumpkin carver.
JAMIE
Again, my apologies about that. Moving on. So, what is it like being a Halloween Ghoul?
FRED:
Oh, it is taxing work and there is no down time. Just last night I was walking down the lane and said Hello to this young fellow as a matter of politeness. He screamed so loud it made me jump right out of my skin.
JAMIE:
I suppose that’s an occupational hazard in your line of work.
FRED:
Quite.
JAMIE:
So how do you prepare yourself for the big night?
FRED:
Well just as I am now. I relax in the forest here in Yorkshire with a Martini and try and get myself in the mood. I then feel energized and ready to create a bit of Halloween mayhem.
JAMIE:
That sounds like a good way to do things. So what will you do with your time after Halloween?
FRED
I expect that I will just spend a little time making soup or rotting. The usual thing.
JAMIE
Sounds great Fred. Well, I would just like to say thank you from Sand In Your Eye and our readers for taking the time to do this interview during this busy part of the year.
FRED
No Problem. Happy Halloween.
JAMIE:
Happy Halloween from all at Sand In Your Eye.
